To learn
To learn, discover, live experiences.
To experience a more nomadic way of life, with less comfort and more unforeseen events, in order to gain autonomy and flexibility.
Finally, to see things with our own eyes and not through the media, to understand the world and become aware of its realities.
To challenge yourself
A trip is an opportunity to challenge yourself, to challenge yourself, to impose difficulties on yourself. It is also an opportunity to confront one's fears; The fear of being alone, the fear of strangers… To improve and become stronger.
To live freedom
There is nothing more pleasurable than being able to experience this feeling of freedom, to be able to do what you want when you want, freed from the constraints of everyday life, free to finally be able to take your time and live at your own pace.
To meet people
Meetings are an important part of the trip. The people you meet on the road are so diverse! Nationalities, religions, living conditions, different backgrounds! Such diversity brings us a different vision of things, of life, of the world. This vision will make it possible to complete and perfect the one that your parents, your environment or even your country have passed on to you.
For me, this is the #1 benefit of solo travel!
Without this bubble of comfort, without someone always by our side to talk to when there's nothing else to do, it's much easier to talk to the strangers around us. We are even driven to it, by social instinct, by loneliness, or simply to ask for information about something.
And then, being so much more attentive and curious when we're alone makes us so much more open and receptive, and you inevitably find yourself talking to lots of people wherever you are.
It also works in reverse; people around you will talk to you more spontaneously if you are alone. Because a group is necessarily more intimidating.
Finally, traveling alone also means meeting many more people.
And among these meetings, there are the locals, the best placed to really help us discover a region.
To reconnect with nature
Of course, I mean nature; Trees, plants and animals. But I also want to talk about your own nature; Your rhythm and your natural instincts.
We all have a different rhythm of life, a biological rhythm defined since our birth, the alternation of waking and sleeping phases that your body follows. However, the constraints of daily life do not allow us to respect this rhythm.
But when traveling, we can finally live according to our natural rhythm. And that's what makes you crazy! When traveling, I don't always sleep very long and rarely in a good bed! And yet, I am still in great shape because I can let my body follow its sleeping pattern!
To discover and be yourself
First, traveling allows us to discover ourselves because we are confronted with unusual situations, which bring out certain unknown sides of our personality.
And secondly, traveling allows us to discover ourselves because we can finally be ourselves, and no one else. While at home we are forced to follow the conventions and habits of family, friends, work and society. Even unconsciously, we strive to blend in with our surroundings. But, when travelling, all these constraints disappear! This is also one of the reasons why I prefer to travel alone.
To heal
Because travel allows you to completely empty your mind, it is the best remedy against a bad experience (breakup in love, school, social or professional failure, violent event, etc.).
Oh sure, we can talk about a cure provided we come back one day. Otherwise, it's called a drug. I have known people who had dropped everything and who no longer wanted to go home. But this is never the right solution. If you love traveling so much that you no longer want to resume your daily life, then make travel your daily life, by becoming a digital nomad for example.
Traveling alone to be more attentive to what surrounds us
When traveling alone, it often happens that, at the time, you have nothing to do or no one to talk to. So what do we do ? We look around.
Whether walking, in a local restaurant, on a train… Alone, we are much more attentive to everything around us and notice lots of details, people, interesting things. As a result, we are more quickly immersed in the local atmosphere.
